The Diamond Beech
Ice
Otsu, the second largest island in Japan's archipelago, is covered in beautiful diamonds every winter thanks to Mother Nature's amazing ability.
Actually, this beach is formed by pieces of ice...
Now let's see how the ice cubes become like beautiful diamonds..
Located at the northern tip of Japan, Hokkaido feels very intense.
The Tokachi River, which flows into the Pacific Ocean near Otsu Beach, freezes completely at this time when the atmosphere is about twenty degrees below zero.
The frozen water near the mouth of the estuary is moved by the waves, forming ice floes and joining the ocean.
The "diamonds" thus created are washed away by the waves and deposited to shape the beach.
Our fixtures are like ice cubes. These ice cubes are extremely transparent.
Tourists flock to the beach in the morning despite the cold to see the beautiful sight created when the sunlight reflects off them.
So if you're going to see this ice diamond, go to Otsu Beach around six o'clock...
