Do you know about mercury?
Mercury is a metal found in the Earth's crust. It is one of the rarest metals in the world. Because of its rarity, it is very expensive. Usually 1 kilo is around 50 US Dollars. Mercury is very dense and heavy at 13.5 g/mL (usually something like a heavy iron plow floats when placed in a container filled with mercury). There is 1Kg of mercury in this small kippi below. Mercury begins to be absorbed into the skin within moments of contact with human skin. In that way, mercury enters the human brain and other systems (this event is called mercury poisoning). If mercury fumes enter the lungs, the condition is even worse. In case of mercury poisoning, first there is a headache with dizziness. With continued exposure to more mercury, ingestion of mercury particles can cause long-term speech and expression difficulties. Also, long-term inhalation of mercury fumes can cause death.
